Father's Day and What It Means for Us

Hey everyone,

This Sunday is Father's Day! It's a time we think of grilling out on gas grills, outdoor games, back massages for dads, relaxing afternoons, back massages, families being together, back massages.  Father's Day makes us think of how dads have served and led their families.

It would be wonderful if this were true for most families. Sadly, this is not always the case. In the church, we have the opportunity to be dads and support for those who've missed out on this wonderful blessing. I am tremendously encouraged as I've seen families in our church "adopt" other kids or single parents during these special days. Thank you families.

On this Father's Day, think of what our heavenly Father did in order to adopt us, sent his Son to be offered up sacrificially in our place. And let us think how we can reflect that same love to those we know who don't have this blessing.

Yours in Christ,

Steve
